Why it is worth two minutes
The requirement is broader than most manufacturers expect.
Two separate regimes can catch the same product: the Market Surveillance Regulation for CE marked goods, and the GPSR for anything reaching a consumer. Meeting one does not settle the other, and the marketplaces check for the second.
